Freelance illustrators Zena Kay and Tess Smith-Roberts co-founded Still Here Still Life (SHSL) in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Seeking an online space to reignite their creativity, they began sending each other prompts based on items found around their homes. After a few weeks, SHSL was created, where they aimed to post photo prompts that would inspire others to recreate the prompt in any medium.
To their surprise, the page quickly became a drawing phenomenon, amassing over 200,000 followers, hosting in-person workshops, and resulting in a sold-out book. After three years, the page took a brief hiatus due to their busy lives; however, the community continued to thrive with people drawing the prompts. Now, in 2025, the drawing page is back up and running due to popular demand and has already achieved views of up to 1.1 million. We are eager to collaborate with more brands, host larger workshops, and expand our community even further!
